What's Inside. Everything you need to get a fire going: a 5-inch ferro rod and striker on 3 feet of paracord, hemp rope for catching a spark, an aluminum tube that doubles as a snuffer and a bellows, five natural pine shaving firestarters, and half a pound of fatwood kindling.

Portable. The 10" pouch is MOLLE-compatible, so it rides inside or outside your pack or even on your belt. All items are secure and easily stored for when you really need it.

Weather Proof. The five included firestarters are rolled pine shavings packed with natural fatty and lauric acids. Light one, set it under your kindling, and you've got 13 minutes of steady flame. Even when the weather isn't cooperating, the ferro rod and striker never spoil, dry out, or need replacing — they keep delivering sparks.

Extra Control. The aluminum tube isn't just for snuffing out your hemp rope once it's caught. Blow through it to direct airflow exactly where your ember needs it. It's a small thing that makes a real difference when you're nursing a fire in bad conditions. And the ferro rods? Most ferro rods are stubby little things that give you a weak, short stroke. The Flare's rod is 5 inches long and half an inch thick—big enough to throw serious sparks with a full, confident draw.
